SERVING THE CHINO VALLEY WITH READINESS, RELIABILITY, AND PURPOSE

The Chino Valley Independent Fire District proudly serves the Chino Valley, operating as a board-governed fire district with authority across Chino, Chino Hills, and surrounding unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County. The District is committed to rapid response, public safety, and operational readiness across a diverse service area. To support these priorities, the District equips its Ford F-350 Super Duty first responder trucks with Method 709-HD Bead Grip wheels, featuring the forged 709 Impact Rings that add an extra layer of protection to the wheels. This combination delivers the strength, durability, and dependable performance for the District's firefighter/paramedics to operate confidently.

A typical day at the Chino Valley Fire District begins with preparation. Each shift starts with briefings and thorough equipment checks to ensure every apparatus, tool, and medical supply is fully operational. Crews then respond to a wide range of emergency calls, with medical aid calls making up the majority of responses.

When not actively responding, firefighter/paramedics focus on training, physical fitness, equipment maintenance, station duties, reporting, and community outreach. Every task supports one core objective: being ready to respond quickly, safely, and effectively at any moment.

DIVERSE CALLS ACROSS DEMANDING TERRAIN

The District primarily responds to medical emergencies, traffic collisions, structure fires, aircraft incidents, and swift water rescues. Additionally, the Fire District has its own Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) teams.

Serving a mix of urban, suburban, and open land environments, the District’s coverage includes Chino Hills State Park, a vast 14,000-acre area. As a result, crews also respond to brush and wildland fires, particularly during dry seasons when conditions become more volatile.

EVOLVING TO MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS

Over time, the District's mission has evolved alongside the needs of the community. Today, EMS and paramedic calls account for more than 80% of total call volume, including cardiac events, trauma, overdoses, and respiratory emergencies.

This shift has driven a strong emphasis on advanced life support training, high-performance CPR, EMS proficiency, and rapid medical response, ensuring crews are fully prepared for the most common and critical emergencies they face.

Preparedness is built into every shift. Daily vehicle and equipment inspections, ongoing training, drills, and physical fitness are essential to maintaining operational readiness. This constant preparation allows crews to respond confidently and safely across all emergency scenarios.

EARNING TRUST THROUGH PROVEN BEAD GRIP TECHNOLOGY

As with any critical component on a service vehicle, the District approached Method's Bead Grip technology with careful consideration. Initially, there was some natural hesitancy, as wheel retention and tire security are directly tied to vehicle safety and response reliability.

That confidence grew after seeing the technology proven in real-world, high-demand environments. Observing Polaris RZR Factory Racing teams and other professional racers successfully run bead grip technology under extreme racing conditions demonstrated its reliability and performance under stress.

Seeing the Bead Grip technology withstand and maintain tire beads in aggressive terrain, high loads, and sustained abuse helped reinforce trust in its capability. That confidence was further reinforced by the 709-HD’s 3,310 to 4,500 lb load rating, confirming the wheel’s ability to safely support heavy service vehicles without compromising wheel retention or tire security. For the Fire District, this reliability is further enhanced by the forged 709-HD Impact Ring, which bolts onto the wheel to provide critical lip protection against curb strikes, debris, and repeated impacts common in emergency response environments. Together, this real-world validation confirmed the 709-HD as a dependable solution for demanding service applications where safety, durability, and consistent response are essential.

TECH DRIVEN RELIABILITY IN THE FIELD

THE IMPORTANCE OF DEPENDABLE EQUIPMENT

Reliable equipment is essential to the District's ability to operate effectively. Firefighter/paramedics depend on well-maintained apparatus, tools, and medical equipment to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Dependability minimizes delays, reduces risk, and allows crews to focus fully on emergency operations and patient care.

DEMANDS ON EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLES

Emergency response places significant demands on vehicles like the Ford F-350. These units transport two firefighter/paramedics and essential medical equipment while navigating congested traffic and varied terrain in high-stress situations. In these conditions, dependable performance, durability, and control are critical when every second counts.

HOW VEHICLE COMPONENTS IMPACT SAFETY AND RESPONSE

Every vehicle component directly affects response time and crew safety. Any failure or malfunction can delay arrival, increase operational risk, and compromise effectiveness during critical incidents. This makes component reliability a non-negotiable requirement for service vehicles.

WHEELS BUILT FOR DEMANDING CONDITIONS

Method Race Wheels support the District’s operational needs across a wide range of environments. On paved city streets, the 709-HD Bead Grip wheels provide the high load capacity required to safely support fully equipped response vehicles, while in hills and uneven terrain they offer the ability to air down securely when conditions demand it, helping increase traction and maintain control off-road. This capability allows vehicles to safely carry personnel and equipment, respond efficiently to emergencies, and operate with confidence in challenging and unpredictable situations.

EQUIPMENT STANDARDS FOR SERVICE VEHICLES

When selecting equipment, the District prioritizes reliability, durability, and performance under high-stress conditions. Safety, ease of use, compatibility, maintenance requirements, efficiency, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards all play a role in ensuring service vehicles perform optimally during emergency operations.
